What is a Quarter Bid? Your ticket gives you 3 Paddles which are numbered. The paddles have a coordinating chip with the same number as the paddle. When you receive your paddles, your chips go into our basket. During the Auction, if you see an item you would like to WIN, you can bid ONE QUARTER for EACH paddle you hold up (example 2 paddles = 50 cents). We pull a chip and IF your paddle number is called and YOU BID a quarter for that paddle, YOU WIN!!

Distressing with Sandpaper

One of my favorite distressing techniques is sanding. I love the way it brings out the white core of the paper out. Close to My Heart has great pink 'girl' sandpaper. Trust me ladies, your husband will never mistake your sandpaper for his! Sanding your cardstock is super easy and quick way to give your project the WOW factor.

My good friend, Hollie, has a 22 month old son, Jackson, with cystic fibrosis. She and her husband struggle daily with his care and trying to make ends meet when insurance denies payment for this treatment or that, all while trying to give all three of their children a normal life. She has been a pillar of strength for the past two years and a role model for me. At a time when many would have put all their attention on their own sick child, she has actually reached out to help other families. Hollie is part of an outreach program to support families with newly diagnosed children. Ever since Jackson was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis, Hollie and her family have been determined to do their part to help find a cure.

Seeing their determination and willingness to care for others despite their difficulties, has inspired me to help as well. I am organizing a Scrapping for Strides event in honor of Jackson Miracle Milers to raise money for the Great Strides Walk-a-Thon. I am planning a fun day of scrapbooking and crafting. We're providing lunch, everyone gets a goodie bag full of neat scrapping stuff and I'll be demonstrating a fun scrapbooking project! Mark your calander for March 21st. Hi and welcome to Scrap Freak! I am super excited about starting a blog. Anyone who knows me can tell you that I love to talk! I can't wait to share my passion for scrapbooking with you. I am also very passionate about Close To My Heart. I absolutely love the products and how-to programs they have. Close to My Heart made my scrapbooking faster, simpler, and easier!

I'm going to be sharing my scrapbooking tips, and my artwork in the days to come as well as keeping you updated on the happenings with Close to My Heart. By the summer I hope to have videos to actually be able to Show You How I create using Close to My Heart products.
